General information, guidance and basics:
General resources:
Many organizations and state, federal and international agencies develop and maintain standards for the purchase, installation and maintenance of equipment, qualifications of personnel, job descriptions, calibration of instrumentation and equipment, radionuclide dose calibration, software maintenance, quality assurance and quality control procedures, diagnostic imaging protocols, radiation therapy treatment planning standards, adjuvant therapy, dose management, site credentialing/licensing, site inspections, and site certification, and for coordination with governmental (usually state) agencies.
Regulations and standards are often complex and can vary between such organizations, and almost always require an in-depth understanding of underlying physics principles, conventions and terminology in order to properly interpret them.
