Medical applications of radiation include stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS), total body irradiation (TBI), intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), brachytherapy, all typically used in the treatment of cancer, and diagnostic and nuclear studies for a variety of diseases and conditions.
Medical and non-medical issues include licensure and permitting, relating to the use and handling of X-ray and isotopic sources of radiation.
